Does Garrick House offer Free WiFi Internet?

Yes Garrick House supplies free unlimited Wi-Fi internet to all guests.  This service is available throughout the resort.

How many apartments are there at Garrick House?

There are a total of 18 apartments at Garrick House.

What type of apartments are there at Garrick House?

There is a combination of Deluxe Studio Apartments, 1 Bedroom Apartments and 2 Bedroom Apartments.  2 Bedroom Apartments come with both 1 bathroom and 2 bathrooms.

Where is Garrick House located?

Garrick House is perfectly situated on quiet, palm-tree lined Garrick Street, just one street back from gorgeous Four Mile Beach and only a 2 minute walk to vibrant Macrossan Street, packed with boutique shops, cafes and award winning restaurants.

This fantastic location is the best location for your Port Douglas holiday as it places you within walking distance of all that Port Douglas has to offer and you just have to cross the road and you are on Four Mile Beach!

How long does it take to walk to Four Mile Beach?

Garrick House is just 1 minutes’ walk to Four Mile Beach.

We are literally one street back from The Esplanade and Four Mile Beach. We are also located at the best end of Four Mile Beach as this end includes the safe swimming area (and stinger net in stinger season) and the beach hire which hires sun loungers, umbrellas, tubes, stand-up paddleboards etc.

How many people can share a Deluxe Studio Apartment?

Rates include a maximum of 2 people. An infant cot is the only additional bedding that can be added to deluxe studio apartments, at a cost of just $10 per night.

How long does it take to walk to the Crystalbrook Superyacht Marina?

The Crystalbrook Superyacht Marina is just a 5-10 minute stroll from Garrick House. A 5 minute fast walk or a 10 minute slow walk!

The majority of tour operators that take you to the Great Barrier Reef include a complimentary pick-up from Garrick House.

Do the 2 Bedroom Apartments have 1 or 2 bathrooms?

Garrick House offers both 2 Bedroom Apartments with 1 bathroom and 2 Bedroom Apartments with 2 bathrooms.  The 2 Bedroom, 1 Bathroom Apartments are located on ground, first and second floors whereas the 2 Bedroom, 2 Bathroom Apartments are located on the top (second) floor.

Do I need a car?

If you are just planning on visiting Port Douglas you do not need a car as we are perfectly located within walking distance of all Port Douglas local attractions. Tours companies will collect you from our front door and you can walk to the supermarket and all of the shops, cafes, restaurants, Four Mile Beach and Reef Marina.

If you plan on doing some independent touring of the area a hire car is required. You can park you car in our complimentary undercover car park.

Do the apartments have kitchen facilities?

All apartments have full kitchen facilities including oven, stovetop, dishwasher, fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster, coffee plunger, crockery and cutlery.

I would like to book local tours – can I do this at Garrick House?

Absolutely. We have an on-site tour desk and brochures on all the tours available in Port Douglas and the surrounding area. In addition we have over 9 years local knowledge and have experienced the majority of tours first-hand so can give relevant advice and book tours that suit you. This tour booking service is completely free, you do not need to pay for the tours in advance and we do not charge any credit card commissions!

Does Garrick House have a lift?

Garrick House does not have a lift and has 3 levels – ground, 1st floor and 2nd floor. If you have difficulty with stairs please let us know in advance and request a ground or 1st floor apartment. Deluxe studio apartments are on ground level.

How many people can share a 1 Bedroom Apartment?

Rates include 2 people and maximum room capacity is 2.

How many people can share a 2 Bedroom Apartment?

Both our 2 Bedroom, 1 Bathroom Apartments and our 2 Bedroom, 2 Bathroom Apartments can sleep a maximum of 4 people.

I am arriving outside of reception hours – what should I do?

When you arrive at reception you will find an envelope at the front reception window with your surname on it. The welcome letter inside will detail how to locate your apartment.

There is an after-hours phone located at reception in case of an emergency or if you have any questions or concerns when reception is closed.

When is payment of the accommodation due?

When you book directly with Garrick House you can rest assured you are receiving the best rate available.

In order to confirm a reservation, we will request your credit card details and process a 15% deposit of the total accommodation charge.

The balance of your accommodation is due 14 days prior to arrival in high season (mid May to mid October, mid December to late January, Easter and Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria school holiday periods) and 7 days prior to arrival in low season (other times of the year).

If you book via a third-party website, the deposit and balance payment due dates may be earlier.

Prior to the balance due date, amendments can be made to your reservation and a $50 amendment reservation fee applies, subject to availability.

What is Garrick House’s cancellation policy for direct bookings?

Bookings cancelled 30 days or more prior to arrival, the deposit paid will be fully refunded, less a $100 cancellation fee.

Bookings cancelled less than 30 days prior to arrival and before the balance due date, a cancellation fee equal to the 15% of the total reservation (being the deposit held) will apply.

Bookings cancelled on or after the balance due date, a cancellation fee equal to the full reservation charge will apply. The full reservation charge will apply for no shows.

No refunds will be provided for reduced stays once the full reservation has been paid.

Does Garrick House have beach towels or do I need to bring my own?

Garrick House offers one complimentary pool/beach towel per person. Additional pool/beach towels can be hired for just $3 per towel.

Do you have to pay a deposit when making a reservation?

Yes, a 15% deposit of the total accommodation charge is required at the time of making a booking. We will take your credit card details and process your deposit to secure and confirm your booking.  We provide a full refund, less a cancellation administration fee, for cancellations 30 days or more before arrival.

How do I make a reservation at Garrick House?

Directly with Garrick House!  Why?  Because it will save you money!  We offer a best price guarantee to our guests.

We strongly recommend guests purchase travel insurance to minimise any loss should there be a need to cancel the booking or there are unplanned disruptions to your travel.

Do all of the apartments overlook the swimming pool?

All of the apartments face the same direction – towards the street – and enjoy pool and/or garden views.

Is the swimming pool heated?

Yes! The tropical swimming pool at Garrick House is heated to a lovely 30 degrees during the cooler months, from approximately May to October.

The heated pool provides for comfortable year-round swimming.

Does Garrick House have Foxtel/Cable TV?

As an alternative to Cable TV we have a Google Chromecast installed on each apartment television.  This allows you to stream your favourite TV shows and movies from your own personal device.  To use this service you simply need your own device (e.g. smartphone or tablet) and an account with a streaming service, e.g. Netflix, Stan, Disney+, Kayo etc.

Does Garrick House offer on-site parking and what is the cost?

Garrick House offers complimentary undercover on-site parking to all guests. All parking spaces are unallocated so do not need to be reserved in advance. The car park is located at the rear of Garrick House and the driveway is located on the right hand side of the main entrance.

What day is the local market held in Port Douglas?

The local Port Douglas market is held every Sunday at Market Park at the end of Macrossan Street, just a 10 minute walk from Garrick House. Sunday is a great day to be in Port as everyone heads to the market and then out for brunch or lunch and/or afternoon drinks.  In addition there is always live music on at the Court House Hotel on a Sunday, directly opposite the markets.  During the peak season (approximately June to October) there is also a smaller Wednesday afternoon market held at the Crystalbrook Superyacht Marina from 11am – 5pm.
